We have designed the entire experience from adding, managing devices to controlling multiple spaces and multiple groups of users (families, guests).
We were working on the product visualisation in parallel with the app look and feel. Collaborating with the Industral Design team we came up with a look inspired by the physical products.
The CGI renders became our foundation and the driver for the visual direction for the brand. This has been carried through the app UI, website and packaging as well and has been our driving visual principle in the app interface and direction.
We used a simple combination of lots of greys that were derived from the soft shadows and added two main highlight colours to keep our actions and main functionality clearly visible.
While the UI was toned down and made calm and soft, we wanted to bring in hints of lifestyle imagery to create moments of warmth especially in the beginning of the experience.
As we were establishing the app experience we created a map of our high level flows for our own benefit as we didn’t have any dedicated UX support.
Working together with firmware engineers and industrial product designers helped us to shape the app experience as we uncovered any challenges we needed to overcome.
Den asked us to make their products more accessible with a robust checkout flow and to showcase the capability of their ecosystem.
Lifestyle photography was even more key on the website, as we wanted to show the products in their real environment to help potential customers see how beautiful and simple the Den products are.
Each product header featured a lifestyle photo when the users land on the product page. If they chose a different specification the site featured the CGI imagery.
